In February 2001 God imparted a vision to Pastor Matthew J. Mitchell at the end of a seven-day fast.  This vision consisted of a church with the heart to evangelize the community and empower believers to live successful Christian lives.  God told him that the goal of this church would be to become a multi-ethnic church that is:

Ø Christ Centered                     Ø Bible Based

Ø Praying                                  Ø Five Fold

Ø Evangelistic                           Ø Bible Teaching

Ø Faith Operated                      Ø Spirit Led

Ø Family Oriented                    Ø Contemporary

Ø Community Active                Ø Organized

This church would take several years to reach its goals, however, when it does it would be an example to the Christian body of how a church should be. It is from this vision that The Renewal Center Church, a non-denominational church, was birthed on August 8, 2004.

OUR VISION STATEMENT

A vision statement can be defined as a  formal statement of aims or ideas for a company, organization, or an organism, such as a church.  This statement is not just a saying, but something that is  easily remembered, that connects with the goals of the church.  Our vision statement is:

“Bringing lives into harmony with God”

The explanation:

Harmony is produced by having at least three parts working together  (if there is only two parts, then it is unity, and not harmony).  Think about music, a cord is made up of three different keys working together to produce a harmonious sound.  If we look at man, he has a spirit, soul, and a body.  In order to walk in harmony with God, man’s spirit, soul, and body must be in unity with what God wants.
